Photography is not easy work, effort put in pays you in terms of satisfaction. It's those times when you have rub on some elbow grease to get the shots that you want. I have learnt photography myself, learning from the internet and friends who would be kind enough to give tips. God's creatures are sometimes not that willing when it comes to taking pictures. You would have to wait until they move into the position that is worthy of a picture, or if they are static, you would have to make do with the angles that you've got.
This lizard in particular wasn't that still to begin with, armed with my 75-300mm, i managed to bag some shots before it ran up the tree among the leaves. It is being backlighted giving it a nice glow around the edges.
Mr. Amphibian here is also quite 'jumpy'. I could not get near enough if I were to use my kit lens. So once again, I resorted to the 75-300mm with a wireless flash held 45 degrees directly overhead. I had to lie flat on the grass to get to eye level with it. Partly, it's fun as I was indeed 'shooting' something sniper-style.
My brother's rabbit is a much easier target, as it will just sit there and groom itself.
My Alpha brought me back nearer to nature. How about yours?
I believe we've seen enough of animals for now. Next, we'll look at something more familiar; humanly shapes and expressions. So, stay tuned.
